Oil itself does not cause breakouts. The skin continuously produces and secretes oil to lubricate and protect itself. Breakouts occur only if the pores are clogged and bacteria quickly multiply because of the buildup of oil. Laventine oils are therapeutic and cosmetic grade from reputable suppliers specialized in organic produce, where good measures are taken to remove all impurities that may clog pores. Oils from the supermarket, on the other hand, tend to keep the potentially comedogenic elements, such as tiny peel and pit, which actually enhance the flavor and color of the oils. Therefore, Laventine oils are not as delicious as gourmet oils, but more skin-friendly. Laventine facial oils are formulated to protect and nourish the skin without clogging pores, therefore will not cause breakouts. Our facial oils are more easily absorbed because they have smaller molecules than creams and lotions. Laventine facial oils moisturize the skin and still allow normal skin functions to take place (breathing, sweating, shedding of dead skin and releasing sebum). In fact, the anti-oxidants in our products can help prevent blackheads, which are oxidized oil.
2. What's the difference between various Laventine Face and Eye Oils? Although both products for Dry/Normal and Oily/Combo skin share the same ingredient list, the proportions of the oils are different. For example, the products for Oily/Combo skin contain more Grapeseed Oil, which is slightly astringent and especially good for oily skin. The products for Dry/Normal skin is more moisturizing while the ones for Oily/Combo more regulating and balancing, but both have the same rejuvenating effect. The Olive Forte is designed for people sensitive to nut oils such as almond.

* For most people, essential oils of chamomile, lavender, and geranium can actually sooth irritated and inflamed skin, but if you are sensitive to them, Olive Forte is your best bet.
4. What's the difference between Laventine Face Oil and Eye Oil? Both Face Oil and Eye Oil are gentle enough to use on the entire face. But the skin around the eye is very thin and easier to wrinkle. Also, the eye area does not absorb oil very well. Laventine Eye Oil is formulated to deeply moisturize the eye area with maximum anti-wrinkle effect. On the other hand, the rest of the face tends to be oilier than the eye area; therefore, the Face Oil is slightly lighter.
Also, different oils work together as a team and each contribute its own special beneficial properties to the whole products. Since the oils have different absorption rates, the products moisturize the skin over an extended period of time without overwhelming it all at once.
6. How does Water-soluble Facial Cleansing Oil work? The answer is simple: it takes oil to cut oil. The skin produces oil, which will mix with makeup and dirt. The best way to remove this mixture of impurities is by using oil. In fact, oils are the safest and easiest way to remove eye makeup, especially waterproof mascaras.
Laventine Water-soluble Facial Cleansing Oil is formulated to clean the skin, remove makeup, tone and condition all in one step. It glides on like liquid silk and rinses off completely with water, leaving no greasy residue, only a clean, soft and pampered face. Our cleansing oil also contains oils that have anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, calming and balancing properties to enhance the cleansing process.
8. Since Neem Oil kills bacteria and virus, is it toxic to human? No. Neem is considered to be one of the safest medicinal herbs available. The FDA's Office of Special Nutritionals maintains an extensive database of adverse affects from herbal medications which does not include any references to Neem that would indicate potential problems. Even the Extension Toxicology Network documentation for using Neem as a pesticide shows that it is "relatively non-toxic" and caused no significant problems even at the extraordinary high dosages fed to laboratory rats as part of the approval process required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Also keep in mind, the central concept of toxicology is that effects are dose-dependent; even water is toxic to a human in large enough doses (the condition is called water intoxication, also known as hyperhydration). Just because Neem oil has anti-microbial property, one cannot assume that it is toxic to human. As you know, honey, salt, and oil can kill bacteria, but they are harmless to human within certain doses. Laventine products are for cosmetic use, which contain much lower doses of Neem oil than products for medicinal use. Laventine hair products are formulated to help keep scalp clean and healthy, without causing any adverse effects.
Some studies, such as the one titled “Cytotoxicity of azadirachtin A in human glioblastoma cell lines” (Life Sciences, Volume 68, Issue 10 , 26 January 2001, Pages 1153-1160), have been interpreted by some as Neem’s potential toxic effects. In fact, the study is on the effect of high doses azadirachtin A (one of the active ingredients in Neem) on brain tumor tissue. Neem oil has been observed to behave like T-cell of the immune system, which attacks affected cells but leave healthy cells alone. This is why Neem has shown promise of treatment of HIV/AIDS (Neem in Health, Neem Foundation).
10. Do you sell at retail stores? Not at the moment. Although our products are available at some dermatologist offices, skincare clinics and salons, we do not sell at retail stores. All online orders are filled and shipped directly from our warehouse.
